At just 24 years old, Monique from Ermelo has faced challenges that no one should have to endure. Growing up in poverty meant she could not complete her orthodontic treatment, leaving her to live with years of pain, embarrassment, and self-consciousness.
Now studying to become a teacher, Monique bravely shared her story with the FKN Army. Her courage touched thousands of people.

A Life-Changing Gift
The FKN Army partnered with Dr Ignus Terblanche from Medipark Dentist to give Monique a complete dental transformation.
The journey began with temporary veneers on the day of the surprise. Later, her permanent smile was fitted, completing her transformation.
Before the big reveal, Kiki made sure Monique felt celebrated. They enjoyed lunch together, she had her hair done at Flirt Hair Studios, and she received new workout clothing from Burnt Studio.
A Smile Worth Showing
Dr Terblanche shared his excitement about being part of Monique’s journey.
When Monique saw her new smile for the first time, she burst into tears of joy. Years of insecurity disappeared in a single moment.
Dr Terblanche reminded Monique that she no longer need to keep her hand infront of her face when she smiles, for years, hiding her smile had become a habit. Now, she no longer has to.
